What a 4 Dham Yatra package covers

The four dhams are Yamunotri (Goddess Yamuna, ~3,293 m), Gangotri (Goddess Ganga, ~3,100 m), Kedarnath (Lord Shiva, ~3,583 m) and Badrinath (Lord Vishnu, ~3,133 m). A 4 Dham Yatra package visits them in the traditional west-to-east order over roughly 1,250 km of mountain road from Haridwar. Two of the four need walking: Yamunotri is ~6 km from Janki Chatti and Kedarnath is ~16 km from Gaurikund. Gangotri and Badrinath can be reached by road. That is the most important fact for a family 4 Dham Yatra package with seniors.

4 Dham Yatra package from Haridwar or from Delhi/Noida?

This is the first decision for any 4 Dham Yatra package or Char Dham Yatra package. Both routes cover the same temples; the difference is the extra driving and days.

Noida or Delhi to Haridwar is 200–230 km, about 5–6 hours. For seniors, a 4 Dham Yatra package starting from home in one vehicle means no station changes and no carrying bags, which many families find worth the extra days. If you prefer to save, take a train to Haridwar, watch the evening Ganga aarti at Har Ki Pauri, and begin the 4 Dham Yatra package the next morning. Worked cost examples for a private 4 Dham Yatra package

For a private 4 Dham Yatra package the vehicle is charged per km with a minimum of 250 km per day. Hill roads are slow, so on most days you drive less than 250 km and the minimum decides the fare. Our 4 Dham Yatra package rates: Swift Dzire ₹12/km, Ertiga ₹15/km, Innova Crysta ₹20/km; Tempo Traveller 12/16/25 seats ₹20/₹25/₹30 per km. Driver allowance is ₹300 per day for a car and ₹500 per day for a tempo traveller.

Example 1: Swift Dzire, 10 days from Haridwar

• Minimum distance: 10 days × 250 km = 2,500 km
• Fare: 2,500 km × ₹12 = ₹30,000
• Driver allowance: 10 days × ₹300 = ₹3,000
• Vehicle total: ₹33,000, or ₹8,250 per person for a family of four

Example 2: Ertiga, 10 days from Haridwar

• 2,500 km × ₹15 = ₹37,500
• Driver allowance: 10 × ₹300 = ₹3,000
• Vehicle total: ₹40,500, or ₹6,750 per person for six people

Example 3: Innova Crysta, 12 days from Noida

• 12 days × 250 km = 3,000 km minimum
• 3,000 km × ₹20 = ₹60,000
• Driver allowance: 12 × ₹300 = ₹3,600
• Vehicle total: ₹63,600

Example 4: 12-seat Tempo Traveller, 12 days from Noida

• 3,000 km × ₹20 = ₹60,000
• Driver allowance: 12 × ₹500 = ₹6,000
• Vehicle total: ₹66,000, or ₹5,500 per person for twelve people

Important: these 4 Dham Yatra package examples cover the vehicle and driver only. Tolls, parking and state tax are extra. The actual kilometres may be higher than the minimum if you add detours, extra sightseeing or change hotels, and then the actual distance is charged. Hotels, food, pony, palki, helicopter and puja fees are separate unless you book them in a Char Dham Yatra package. Group Char Dham Yatra package vs private 4 Dham Yatra package

Compare the private 4 Dham Yatra package examples above with our group Char Dham Yatra package from Haridwar at ₹17,000 per person. The group price already includes hotels, breakfast, dinner and the vehicle for 9 days. For a family of four, that is ₹68,000 for everything except travel to Haridwar and personal extras.

The group Char Dham Yatra package is simpler and usually cheaper for two to four people. The private 4 Dham Yatra package costs more once hotels are added, but you set the pace – and with elderly parents, pace is everything. A Dzire is tight for four adults with winter bags on a 10-day Char Dham Yatra package; many families with seniors choose the Ertiga for legroom.

• Who should skip it: families with seniors who need frequent stops are better off with a private 4 Dham Yatra package.
• Extras: pony, palki and helicopter are not part of the Char Dham Yatra package price, just as in the private 4 Dham Yatra package.

Senior-friendly 4 Dham Yatra package options

The Kedarnath trek of about 16 km each way is the hardest part of any 4 Dham Yatra package. Yamunotri's ~6 km path is shorter but steep. For seniors there are three ways to reach the temple:

None of these are included in a road 4 Dham Yatra package or Char Dham Yatra package; they are paid separately. If the family prefers to avoid long drives, consider the helicopter Char Dham Yatra package: 5 nights / 6 days from Sahastradhara, Dehradun, at about ₹2.1–2.4 lakh per person in the 2026 market. Flights are run by DGCA-approved operators; we help book and arrange hotels and transfers. The passenger weight limit is about 75 kg and bags are limited to one soft bag of about 5 kg. Best months for a family 4 Dham Yatra package

In 2026 Yamunotri and Gangotri opened on 19 April, Kedarnath on 22 April and Badrinath on 23 April; the temples close around Diwali and Bhai Dooj, with exact dates set by the temple committees. May–June is peak season with school holidays, so book your Char Dham Yatra package early. Late September–October brings clear skies and fewer crowds, and the 2026 season is still running now. July–August brings landslide risk, and April and November are cold – less suitable for a senior Char Dham Yatra package. 4 Dham Yatra package booking checklist

1. Fix dates and start point – Haridwar (9–10 days) or Delhi/Noida (11–12 days).
2. Count the travellers and ages – this decides the vehicle and whether to choose the group Char Dham Yatra package or a private 4 Dham Yatra package.
